1 In the area of mining, remote sensing is used for different purposes. We could point out the geological mapping of mining sites along the time and the detection of changes through Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), as well as the volumetric calculations of pilings and reserves. Other more specific and equally innovative uses, indirectly related to mining, include: monitoring of snow cover, monitoring of fires in coal mines and monitoring of pollution and the evaluation of environmental impact and the quality of waters. In EKOFASTBA we are capable of applying the latest state-of-the-art technology and whatever the target aim is.

2 We take care, if you wish, of providing your whole project with remote sensing in mining, implementing the correct methodology, planning, specifications and performance. This implies that, once you have established the project objective and what you aim at or want to find, we will analyse for you all the direct and indirect implications of all of the following related items: the near environment, the types of sensor that will detect the indicators for all of the targeted items and issues, the required resolution in the source data to detect such indicators, the required positional precision in the set of data, the external factors influencing data acquisition and the required frequency of data acquisition, the application and carrying out of remote sensing tasks by means of our own devices, sensors and vehicles, the storage and processing of the set of acquired data and the preparation and presentation of final result reports.

3 All this is integrated within a Geographical Information System (GIS) specifically designed to comprise all the spatial data as well as to incorporate numerical and textual information in its database, together with all the obtained images which are of value for your objectives.

Development of detailed maps to assist the phases of planning and design of new mining sites and their infrastructures
Prospecting and searching for mineral resources and deposits through the identification of spectral signatures of rocks, vegetation and terrain
Production of Digital Terrain Models for the purposes of alignment of infrastructures in new wells projects, visualization of hydrographic networks of the site, deposits, pilings and other hidden topographic information.
Support and consultation for planning and designing infrastructures on mining sites
Topography and terrain exploration with the aim of determining the appropriate mining method and technologies.
Aerial surveillance of the mining site with detailed information to be used in maintenance and hazard detection
Volumetric calculation of the extraction areas and piled reserves, drainage and flooding assessment, and analysis of plans and safety schemes in the mining site
Monitoring of land recovery after the shutdown of the mine, by means of Spectral Analysis of vegetation and other techniques
Aerial surveillance with LiDAR to produce sets of highly dense and precise data to be used in the rehabilitation and upgrade of mines as well as in maintenance schemes. These data may be sent to many different processing and modeling tools in order to produce:
